ITINERARY
Day 1: Table Mountain
Arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by a local tour guide and welcomed into South Africa’s popular “Mother City”. Transfer to your hotel for check-in. Afternoon excursion to Cape Town’s most famous landmark - Table Mountain. (Cable Car included.)Overnight in 3 star Hotel – B&B
Day 2: Cape of Good Hope Today will be a full day’s excursion where we will take a scenic drive along the Cape Peninsula. Activities included: Seal island cruise, park entry fees to Cape Point Nature reserve, Funicular and Boulder's Beach. Overnight in 3 star Hotel - B&B
Day 3: Robben Island This morning we will depart our hotel for a morning tour to the well-known Robben Island – previously home to many political prisoners, including ex-President, Nelson Mandela. Afternoon at leisure. Optional Activities: Aquarium / City Tour (Green Market Square, District six,..) Overnight in 3 star Hotel – B&B
Day 4: Cape Winelands Today we will depart for the beautiful Cape Winelands areas of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Here you will have the opportunity to enjoy wine-tastings at some of our local award-winning wine estates. 3 wine tastings are included. Overnight in accessible local Guest House in Franschhoek - B&B.
Day 5: Garden Route/Oudtshoorn From the Winelands we depart for Oudtshoorn via Montagu on route 62 (through the Klein Karoo). Oudtshoorn is well known for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere and is the perfect breeding ground for our great African flightless bird, the Ostrich. After that we visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch. Overnight in a 3 star Hotel in Oudshoorn – B&B Day 6: Knysna Overnight at Protea Hotel Knysna Quays or similar – B&B Route through George and the Wilderness to the coastal holiday village of Knysna – this quaint town has been voted South Africa’s favourite town. Sunset cruise in the spectacular scenery of the Knysna Heads.
Day 7: Knysna After breakfast, we will make our way to Tsitsikamma National Park where the most adventurous will have the option of enjoying an exhilarating tree top canopy tour. We will visit Monkeyland and Birds of Eden. Overnight at Protea Hotel Knysna Quays or similar – B&B
Day 8: Addo Elephant National Park Along the Garden Route 72kms from Port Elizabeth we will arrive at the Addo Elephant National Park. This park is sanctuary to over 420 elephants. Overnight at Addo Elephant National Park – only accommodation (no meals included)
Day 9: Addo Elephant National Park Overnight at Addo Elephant National Park – only accommodation (no meals included) Enjoy a full day at leisure in the Addo Elephant National Park. There are various optional activities including horse-riding trails, 4x4 adventure rides, nature and walking trails and of course game-viewing. Possibilty of guided night drives.
Day 10: Plettenberg Bay Today, after breakfast, we will transfer back towards Cape Town, stopping in Plettenberg Bay often remarked as the beautiful place where nature has made an enchanted abode. Afternoon spent at leisure. Overnight in a hotel in Plettenberg Bay or Knysna – B&B
Day 11: Little Karoo After breakfast we leave Plettenberg Bay and drive through the Little Karoo to Heidelberg. Visit of 1 200-hectare ostrich, grain and sheep farm between Swellendam and Heidelberg. Home-cooked candlelight dinners at the family dining table. Overnight at Skeiding Guest farm - D,B&B
Day 12: Departure to Cape Town After breakfast, we depart on a leisurely drive to Cape Town, stopping for lunch on the road. You will drive straight to Cape Town International Airport to connect your outbound flight.
