ITINERARY
Day 1: Cape Town – Cape Town
Assisted by our local representative and the hosts at your accommodation you can start the tour by sightseeing in and around Cape Town. If time permits, then you can go immediately to the V&A waterfront and take a sunset cruise (weather permitting). Overnight guesthouse.

Day 2: Cape Town – Peninsula & Townships
After breakfast, take a drive around the scenic Cape Peninsula. Arrive in Hout Bay and Take a boat trip to Duiker Island to see the seals. Drive over the spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive (when open, ask us about current situation and alternative routes) to Noordhoek and on to Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope. Return along the False Bay coastline to Boulders Beach and visit the 3 000 strong colony of African Penguins. Continue to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and enjoy a quiet walk through the indigenous vegetation.
Optional: book a FTTSA accredited guided Township Tour in Masiphumelele in Noordhoek, visit local projects on a bicycle!

Day 3: Cape Town – day at leisure
Take this day (weather permitting) to do some shopping, get some rest and tan on the beach or if the weather is having a bad day – go to the Two Oceans Aquarium at the Waterfront. There is much to do and see in the centre if town from antique shopping to local craft markets and some wonderful offbeat cafes on Long Street. You can also go to Robben Island (book early) and of course, not to be missed you can take the cableway up Table Mountain. Overnight Cape Town

Day 4: Cape Town – Montagu/ Robertson
Enjoy the drive from Cape Town, travelling through our world famous winelands before arriving in Montagu, the town best known for its soothing, healthy hot water springs. Gateway to the Klein Karoo and route 62, (the longest wine route in the world) the charming, historic village of Montagu is the "Mountain Mecca" of the Western Cape. Montagu, the Jewel on Route 62, is only two hours drive from Cape Town and the alternative way to travel the Garden Route. Also home to the world famous tractor rides – ask your guesthouse for additional information

Day 5 & 6 : Montagu – De Rust / Outdshoorn (Klein Karoo)
Today you continue via the impressive Swartberg Pass to Oudtshoorn, the “Ostrich Capital” of South Africa. Experience the world’s largest, flightless bird at the Ostrich Show Farms in Oudtshoorn. These birds are known throughout the world for their feathers, leather and meat. You can also ride an Ostrich - if you dare. Continue your trip to De Rust, where you overnight in unique and historical ox wagons. Spend the next two days exploring the area. Outdshoorn is also home to the "shy 5" i.e. meerkats (suricates) and other secretive critters. In the afternoon there is time to relax, or you can have a look at the impressive Cango Caves, one of the great natural wonders in the Little Karoo with impressive dripstone formations. Explore the peaceful area of De Rust and visit one of the many projects. You can hire a traditional Donkey Cart and participate on a guided tour into the little village and surrounding mountain area. Day 7: De Rust / Oudtshoorn –Knysna (Garden Route)
Departing the Klein Karoo, you drive toward the Garden Route, where you will spend the next 3 days exploring the area. On your way, you can stop at Knysna Elephant Sanctuary. Here you find rescued elephants and learn about their behaviour, get close and personal. Further down the road you will pass the Bloukrans Bridge – home to one of the worlds highest bungee jumps (216 meters).  Carry on to Knysna - the largest town on the Garden Route. Knysna is world Famous for its Oyster Festival and the Knysna Heads. It nestles between the impressive Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean, with the world-renowned indigenous forests surrounding it.  Exploring the area, you will drive through Cape St. Francis, Storms River and Natures Valley and visit the Tsitsikamma National park with its picturesque hanging bridge. The adventurous can join FTTSA accredited Stormsriver Adventures, a professional adventure and activity company based in the heart of the Tsitsikamma Forest, on exclusive hiking trials and excursions into Tsitsikamma National Park. Day 8, 9: Knysna (Garden Route)
At the heart of Knysna is the 21 ha lagoon protected from the sea by the sandstone formation called the Knysna "Heads". Well known for the unique combination of forest and sea and its great hikes through the immense and ancient forests, Knysna is a place of astounding beauty. The jagged coastline and the impressive forest offer a chance to spot a variety of animals. You can explore the forest by foot or mountain bike or see the hidden beauty of the sea on a snorkelling or diving trip. In the afternoon you are welcomed to participate on a cook up dinner with a local family, situated in the township next to Knysna. Discover the local dishes and receipes and enjoy the welcoming spirit of the family you are having dinner with. You can choose to overnight with the local family or return back to your hotel after dinner. Overnight Knysna

Day 10: Knysna – Addo Elephant Park / Port Elizabeth
After breakfast you depart for Addo Elephant National Park, not only home to hundreds of gentle giants but also a variety of other animals. Activities in the Park include hikes, horse trails, game drives and bird watching.

Day 11: Addo Elephant National Park / Port Elizabeth
Today you go for another game drive or you can explore the area before your holiday ends. Port Elizabeth, also known as the Windy or Friendly City (you choose), located on Algoa Bay, and is one of the major seaports in South Africa. Famous also for its long white beaches, horse rides and museums – Port Elizabeth has something for everybody.

Day 12: Return
After breakfast, return your car to the airport to connect with your onward travels.
