The story goes that the Free State town of Vrede (Peace) was originally called Paddadors (Frog-thirst). Whether it is an anecdote or historical fact, the Vrede Paddadors festival is an annual (Afrikaans) music festival which attracts many visitors to the town. Expect live music performances from the best Afrikaans artists, beer gardens and lots of food stalls.
