Cape Town is a perfect place to start any holiday to South Africa. Based in the Leisure Bay Luxury Suites in the suburb of Milnerton for 4 nights – your children have direct access to the beach. With Table Mountain and the V & A Waterfront easily accessible and actually visible from the hotel – there is more than enough to keep the kids busy. Ratanga Junction (theme park) and Canal Walk with the Science Centre are minutes away ensuring extra activities available for your children to enjoy. Many winefarms close by also have jungle gyms and are child friendly.
Skeiding Guest Farm in Swellendam for 3 nights is fascinating for kids as it is a working farm. Besides the obvious farm related activities – there are adrenaline and active excursions in the surrounds – and various National Parks closeby. Arniston and Waenhuiskrans have beautiful beaches and coves and even a coastal cave – perfect for families.
Knysna is in the heart of the Garden Route and offers a chance to really unwind for 4 days while still enjoying what the area has to offer. Portland Manor is the perfect location to relax before heading out for whatever activities suits the family – Monkeyland or elephant adventures , the beaches of Plettenberg Bay, the Cango Caves or Ostrich Farms in Oudtshoorn. Tree Top Canopy swinging, or black water tubing are also highlights for the more adventurous. The many art galleries and coffee shops in Knysna are also perfect for unwinding.
Addo Elephant National Park is a real highlight with sightings of herds of elephant common. Rosedale Organic Farm Bed and Breakfast is a perfect base to relax in while exploring the surrounding areas and of course the park. With a focus on being eco friendly, the tranquil setting boasts thatched roofs with the sound of birds in the indigenous garden.
