COVER_Soweto_Mother_Daughter This tour is a tailor-made flydrive for families with kids of all age groups. Your accommodation is selected for being child-friendly and offering plenty activities for your kids. This, of course, also allows the parents to relax and enjoy their holiday, knowing their children are in safe hands.

Day 1 & 2: Johannesburg
Depending on the time of arrival, you spend 1 or 2 nights in a safe and fun accommodation not far from the airport. Please let us advise you on the options available. From your hotel you can take a township tour to Soweto, sometimes guided by one of the children living there. Another option is to go to Gold Reef City, a family theme park build around an old mine. You can choose between three kinds of accommodation: a guesthouse/small hotel, a luxury hotel or even a safe B&B in Soweto.

Day 3 & 4: Johannesburg – Louis Trichardt/Makhado
Drive to Louis Trichardt, situated in the Limpopo province. Two nights accommodation in a thatched lodge near the river. Here your family can:
-take a sunset cruise on the Levubu River, watching hippos and crocodiles from a safe distance
-visit a sustainable curio market for local artists and crafters
-take a guided local artist tour; visit the villages in the surrounding informal settlement of Makhado. Get to know the Venda and Shangaan culture. Meet local wood carvers, potters and textile weavers in their own villages
- For the kids there is a possibility to help a local artist in their craft making.

Day 5 & 6: Louis Trichardt – Kruger National Park
Travel towards your accommodation near the Kruger National Park where you will overnight in a cozy child friendly lodge. In Kruger Park you go on game drives and/or, if your children are up for it (and where allowed), a guided bush walk. The next morning you can explore Kruger again with your own rental car and to try spot the Big Five you’ve missed the first time...
Other optional activities:
- 2 ½ day Ranger course including a diploma
- Walking safari
- Visit animal rehabilitation and breeding projects.
Your accommodation depends on your package of choice (Adventure, Luxury or Lodge) and will respectively be a tree house in the bush, a private game lodge with two game drives and meals included or a lodge/guesthouse including 2 game drives.

Day 7: Kruger National Park – Hazyview
Drive the impressive Panorama Route with many worthwhile photo stops (God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon to name a few) to the idyllic Pilgrim’s Rest and finally Hazyview or White River for overnight.

- Cycling in the area.

Day 8 & 9: Hazyview – Swaziland
Continue south to the Kingdom of Swaziland. After clearing the border post you drive through this beautiful kingdom to its capital Mbabane where your family can visit a local market and meet the local population. You will spend two nights in one of the National Parks of Swaziland. In the park you will have time to relax, enjoy a game drive, go horse riding or mountain biking.

- Visit a Swazi cultural village
- Go mountain biking
- Embark on a horse riding trip
- Manufacture candles in a Candle Factory.
Accommodation Swaziland:
traditional beehive huts in game reserve (adventure), a centrally located lodge/guesthouse (lodge) or a former hunter’s retreat and luxury houses that look like they were part of The Flintstones set. This includes all meals, 2 game drives per day (luxury- adventure). Third option is a luxury hotel with spa, golf course and a wide variety of activities for the whole family (luxury).

Day 10 & 11: Swaziland – Hluhluwe
Today you leave Swaziland and travel through the sugarcane fields to Zululand. Your family spends the night in the beautiful surroundings of Hluhluwe. Here you can go for walks, a boat tour on Lake St. Lucia or a game drive in Hluhluwe/Umfolozi or Mkuze National Park, or go have fun one of the most beautiful beaches of KwaZulu-Natal.
Optional Activities Zululand:
- A visit to a traditional Zulu village : learn how to dance and make clay pots
- Take a drumming lesson
- Enjoy a traditional Zulu lunch

Accommodation Hluhluwe:
Adventure: overnight in a spacious Zulu hut with shower and toilet in the middle of a cultural village.
Lodge:  Lodge/Guesthouse located between St Lucia & Hluhluwe National Park
Luxury: Game lodge in private reserve, including all meals and 2 game drives.

Day 12: Zululand - Durban
In the morning you have time to visit a Zulu village or go to a cultural show. In the afternoon drive along the Dolphin Coast to Durban, where you overnight.

- Ushaka Marine World – New Aquarium and Water Theme Park
- Indian market
- Natal Sharks Board
- Umgeni Bird Park
- Durban Natural Science Museum
- Have dinner at the harbour
Accommodation Durban:
- Lodge: Lodge/Guesthouse located near Durban
- Luxury: hotel near the beach in Durban or in surrounding area

Day 13 & 14: Durban–Drakensberg
After breakfast you have time to visit the impressive waterfall near Howick and to enjoy the Midlands Meander with all its amazing arts, crafts and activities. The main route of the meander stretches from Howick in the south to Mooi River in the north. The Drakensberg Mountains are the next stop on this trip. This area is not only known for the great hiking possibilities and beautiful surroundings but also for the rock paintings by the bushmen (Khoikhoi and San). Overnight near the Royal Natal National Park. The next day you have ample time to explore the park by foot or take a short stroll to picnic with the family. Take a guided 45min hike to see the San rock art. On the way back you can cool down in one of the natural rock pools.

- Fly Fishing
Accommodation Drakensberg:
- Lodges: Lodge/Guesthouse located near Bergville.

Day 15: Drakensberg – Johannesburg
Have lunch in Clarens and drive via the impressive Golden Gate National Park with its astounding sandstone formations. Continue your way to Bethlehem, Frankfort and Villiers towards Johannesburg.
