We just go for the one that is supported by Fairtrade in Tourism, assuring that your excursion has no negative effects on mother nature's impressive giants of the ocean.

ULTIMATE FIVE STAR WHALE WATCHING EXPERIENCE:JULY-DECEMBER

Meet at the Great White House in Kleinbaai; here you get an extensive and focused educational briefing.  Passengers are fitted with inflatable life-jackets and wet weather gear. Safety is the most important aspect of our operation.

We start our trip from the Kleinbaai Harbour (east of Danger Point).  From there we move towards the Pearly Beach area where we find our highest concentration of Southern right whales.  Southern right whales come to our calm bays every year from July to December to either calve and nurse their young, or to mate.  After spending the allowed time with these magnificent creatures we move towards Dyer Island.

On our way to the Island, we can be so fortunate to see some humpback and bottlenose dolphins.  At Dyer Island we view the African Penguins as well as various other seabirds.  Behind Dyer Island, we visit Geyser Rock, which is resident to about 60 000 Cape fur seals.  Between these two Islands we find ourselves in Shark Alley.  Shark Alley is world famous for its Great White sharks, which makes this probably the only trip in the world where you have a chance of seeing a Southern right whale as well as an 80% chance of seeing a Great White shark.  After this exhilarating 2 and a half hour trip, we return to the Kleinbaai Harbour to enjoy some refreshments and to have a look at the DVD of the day.  Guests can purchase the DVD for R350.  We also supply free email and photo download facilities at the Great White House.

ECO MARINE TRIP/SHARK VIEWING TRIP: JANUARY-JUNE:

Meet at the Great White House in Kleinbaai for an extensive and informative briefing.  Passengers are fitted with comfortable inflatable life-jackets. Safety is  the most important aspect of our operation (extensive public liability insurance included).

We start our trip from the Kleinbaai Harbour (east of Danger Point). We move towards Dyer Island where we view the African Penguins as well as various other seabirds.  Behind Dyer Island, we visit Geyser Rock, which is resident to about 60 000 Cape fur seals.  Between these two Islands we find ourselves in Shark Alley.  Shark Alley is world famous for its Great White sharks, which makes this probably the only trip in the world where you have a chance of seeing a Southern right whale (in season) as well as a Great White shark.  We go by the Shark Cage Diving operators to view Great White Sharks. On our way, we can also be so fortunate to see some humpback and bottlenose dolphins.

After this exhilarating 2  hour trip, we return to the Kleinbaai Harbour to enjoy some refreshments at the Great White House.

ULTIMATE SHARK CAGE DIVING EXPERIENCE:
Breakfast  is provided at The Great White House before the boat launch. Youy get an extensive and focused educational briefing, full of interesting facts about the behaviour of the great white shark.

Passengers are fitted with comfortable inflatable life-jackets. Safety is  the most important aspect of our operation (extensive public liability insurance included). Usually you launch around 9:00 am in the morning (note that launching times may vary due to tide and weather conditions), arriving at the anchoring spot in 20 to 25 minutes. The anchor is lowered, the cage goes into the water, a scent trial is made, and we settle down.

We strive toward zero impact diving, to enjoy the magnificent sharks, yet to be environmentally responsible. In order to attract the sharks to the boat it is necessary to lay down a scent trail for them to follow. Our “chumming" consists out of a bait bag (chumsicle) containing only fish products. This makes a very light scent trail for the sharks to follow. Fish is attached to a bait line to lure the sharks to the boat. The sharks are not fed as the bait is pulled away as they approach.

After this exhilarating trip, we return to the Kleinbaai Harbour to enjoy some refreshments, at the Great White House and to have a look at the DVD of the day.  We do see sharks all year round. Marine Dynamics is the first shark-cage diving operation to become FTTSA-certified and possibly the first to receive responsible tourism certification worldwide.
