Southern Africa Travel Guide
Different species of whales can be spotted along the coasts of southern Africa throughout the year. The best time to spot whales is when the southern right and humpbacks are visiting. They come as early as July and usually leave, with their new-born calves, before the December holidays. Along the east coast many whales, sharks and dolphins can be spotted during the so-called “Sardine Run”, a natural spectacle that usually takes place between May and July.

We enjoyed our Drakensberg trip so much that when my husband said he fancied doing a trip to Hluhluwe, I told him to go to again! Thank you so much!
